This is very true!
One time, a long time ago, I bought one from Pet Valu and they were so gross. It smelled terrible, first of all, and I remember how quickly Jackson consumed it and it was just sooo not worth the price.
Also, the Red Barn ones always grossed me out too. One was kind of slimy-ish feeling and I remember it kind of got stuck in Jackson's throat!
Never had
any issues with bestbullysticks.com - they gave me the fat content right away on their live chat thing, they gave me calories per inch, how they are made, etc, etc.
I think you need to know where they are being made, where the meat/tendon is coming from (what country), where it's being manufactured, and how they produce the product.
