| What I did to Missy the very first time I picked her up was to turn her over on her back in my left arm and I put my right hand across her tummy up high by her throat and I just held her there until she stopped squirming. I'd read that's a sign to them that YOU are the alpha dog. I still do it from time to time and she really listens.
