"Droid" is a phone (actually now it's a line of phones.. they have made a few) made by Motorola that has the Android operating system.

Android is an operating system for cell phones and tablets that is owned by Google.

For instance, my Samsung Galaxy S is an Android device, but it isn't the Droid.


People do it a lot, and its totally normal, I was only clarifying because I felt it was better to do so in case she went to a store and asked for a Droid.. not knowing that there were several android devices available (Imo the samsungs are the best)
