Well, I'm not sure she would clearly be able to comprehend timeout. I think just a firm NO does the trick. I think the association (she's getting scolded thus she sasses back and then gets punished) is a bit too complex. A little too much anthropomorphism can turn a dog into alpha prreetty quick
