HI I am not an expert on the grand champion pts, however, I do know some of it. The Champion only goes in BOB competition, they do not take away points from the other class dogs.

BOB is where all the winning class dogs go up against the Champions. The judge may award OS, and Select, which also gives the Champion pts towards the Grand championship.

If you go on AKC site you will find a section about Grand Champion pts etc, it helped me out in learning more about this title.
