It took my husband and I to get her to walk on it. I held onto the leash and stood behind, which I still do that. My husband sat in front of the treadmil with treats and layed one on the front to motivate her. I found a slow pace wasn't good, because it wasn't her pace, so she walks about 2 to 21/2 mile an hour. We do that anywhere from 5 min to 15. Good luck hope you can get Chachi walking.
