When we take him outside the the big 5ft cage, after his business, he jumps up for us to pick him and up, the when we reach down he backs off.

I don't understand it's My Wife, me and my Daughter, we have never even yelled at him, just said no, or down.

I know he is teething, we have found 3 teeth on the rug this week.

Help..
Oh, I didn't assume you did, just wanted to be sure there was no hitting. My Rocco did the backing off thing too when we would try to pick him up, and to this day still does it sometimes. I think they just grow weary of being picked up all the time, and also react naturally to a person going toward them...it can be intimidating. Try leaving him be for a while with no picking up (unless necessary) and he should ease up on that reaction. Or, sit on the floor and have him come to you - coax him with treats and then praise him for coming, but don't touch him at all.

Also, the teething can definitely make him nippy - he just has hurting gums and an insatiable need to chew. I used tie a wet wash cloth into a knot and freeze it for Rocco to chew on - he loved it. Also, bully sticks were and still are indispensible to satisfy their chewing need.

Good luck with him - I'm sure he will be just fine with a little bit of time and discipline.
