Every time I see someone complaining about the cost of vet care, I always want to ask if they have cable TV. I turned off my cable a couple of years ago, and stream Netflix over my Wii instead. This saves me about $100/month - so $1200/year. That is huge - enough to start saving up for a pup's medical emergency.
It's just very hard for me to see people prioritize materialistic things over their pup's lives...so I tend to walk away from the money threads. I'd trade in my car for an old clunker, sell all my electronics, and take a break from my grad program before I let Levi suffer.
