We needn't worry about vinegar. It is in many foods we eat (oil and vinegar salad dressings for example) and is harmless (though not too tasty in itself).
I put a little vinegar in my bird's drinking water. But - believe this or not, I can't remember why I do it. I know I started doing it for some health reason, but have done it for so long that I can't remember why.
