I think it's a mistake to give Nutri-Cal just for the heck of it. Nutri-Cal is corn syrup which is sugar, and this is like giving a newborn sugar or the time. It should be used to treat hypoglycemia, not prevent it. Too much sugar can make the pancreas make too much insulin and actually cause a case of hypoglycemia. The best way to prevent hypoglycemia is to free feed, puppies can use up their energy reserves very quickly. Don't forget Yorkies have a single hair, not fur like most dogs and can be chilled very easily, if you house is in the low 70's I suggest you use a sweater and it can prevent the shakes.
