So sorry to read off Kiwi's loss, but it sounds as if Lola will be in great hands, and you thought of everything. Even if you're retired, you can't spend every minute with your Yorkie(s), so this sounds like a good test for you. Think how much better you will feel after you get back from the Casino with all those winnings (on not) and are reunited with her?
Personally, I dont like talking to my guys through the phone when I am out of town as Vicky suggested. IMO, It just excites them and they go looking for us missing humans and I think it makes them more anxious, but that is a personal choice for sure. You can at least call your cousin and check up on her even if you don't let her hear your voice.
