You are absolutely not over-reacting. I agree with the person who said you should demand a refund.

We had good luck at a Petsmart puppy class. It was all positive reinforcement. The setting was a bit much for Gracie, as it was a training area inside the store and noisy and distracting, but we learned a lot and worked on it at home. Well worth the money. We're going back for intermediate training after the holidays.
