Well, I dress my girls all the time. And they have bows or clips in their hair. Not long enough to call a topknot yet but we are working on it.
I wouldn't care what people said to me. If I want to dress my pups up then I will! Mine have a pretty nice wardrobe!
And we will not even talk about how many bows I have for them.
