I surf ALOT of Yorkie sites...I like to see what people have for sale and the prices...(Although I would never buy any animal off line without seeing their living conditions and the parents or, at least the mother). I have seen a couple of "chocolate" yorkies for sale. The price was high as they were being sold as "rare". I have NEVER heard of a chocolate yorkie. So......I e-mailed AKC and asked them about this..They said this color is not recognized by the AKC. Also to beware of breeders trying to sell this color as being rare. This would be considered a defect in the color...I am not saying you shouldn't get one just becareful of breeders trying to sell you a "rare" color pup for $$$$ when it really isn't rare at all. |
