I thought the little one was way too small and claustrophobic and got the next size up, which we use only for sleeping and gives Smokey plenty of room. He has never messed in it.
BTW, born in Brooklyn, spent my early years in Bayside with lots of pix of me digging away in the sandbox at Alley Pond Park. :>)
