I don't know anything about those crates, but I am pretty sure that the general rule is that they have enough space to stand up and turn around comfortably in. Have you considered other brands/types of crates?

The website says the crate is good for up to 10lbs, but that is not always the best thing to go by. If he is going to get bigger (you didn't actually put a number before the months for his age) and hecan barely turn around now, I would personally look for a bigger crate for the time being.

When we got a crate for Sophie when she was a puppy we were told to buy the size she would need as adult and use something to block off the extra space so the crate can grow with the dog. I looked at the website and the model 400 comes with a divder so you would be able to make the crate the size that is most comfortable for him by using that.

So if he is going to keep growing and can barely turn around now I would either get the bigger one and block off the extra space or I would look for a different brand of crate and see if they have an in between size.

Good luck with him!
