he's barely 3lbs - he got weighed nov 25th and was 2lbs 13 ounces. his back is long though. We did get long john pajamas that are xs and those say 8 inches, and they just fit him so these should fit. If I did go with the small, I think they would be too loose on him.
It was a great price. They were on sale cheaper than the 6.99. I got 1.75 off with my CVS card! I was pretty pumped
