The transition from puppy coat to adult coat happens as the puppy turns into an adult, generally at around one year. Depending on genetics, this can happen sooner or later for each individual. It can take from 3 to 5 years to see the full adult coat.
That said, Yorkies do not shed. Actually they do shed technically, they just do not drop hair all around the house. The hair that ends up in the brush is hair that has been shed, but remains in the coat until it is brushed out. |
