Heather, what makes you think Gizmo will be 4 1/2-5#? Try to be as sure as you can be about his size and then add about 1/2#, just to be safe. The girl you want should be bigger than him, so if you are pretty sure he won't get bigger than 5 1/2#, look for a female that will be 6-7# fully grown. I'm sure you know there is no size guarantee when it comes to Yorkies, but when I ask what size a dog is going to be, I really want to know the top limit of what the breeder thinks the dog COULD get. I don't want to hear "Oh, he/she should be about 5#," and then have the dog get to 7-8#. I want to hear, "I don't think he/she will reach 7#," or "I'm pretty sure he/she won't reach 7#." I want to know the parents and grandparents sizes if possible. I know there can be throwbacks but I want to minimize my risks of throwbacks as much as possible. I have 2 little girls I will be putting up for sale when I find my digital camera disc and can put the program back on my puter, I think they should be in the 8# range but in being honest as I want someone else to be with me, "I don't think they will reach 10#, but they could cause their father is 11#. I believe he is a throwback and should throw puppies a lot smaller than he." Sylvia |
