I've never given my yorkies Nutri-cal. I've always had it on hand when getting a new puppy, but have never actually needed to give it. The only Nutri-cal ZoE's ever had was the bit her breeder gave to her before the long drive to bring her home.
For treats, we use all the ones suggested above...cooked carrots, greenbeans & peas for veggies, and apple, watermelon, banana for fruits. ZoE's also had frozen greek yogurt, or a lil peanut butter in her Kong.
