I think it's normal, but maybe that is because Pita is pretty much the most hyper dog I have ever seen, LOL! People just laugh because she is so squirmy when they try to hold her or she is constantly jumping up in your face licking you. She runs and jumps on the back of our recliner every time hubby walks by....she is nonstop all over the place. She just made 10 months and she does seems to calm down a little sooner at night than she used to. She will lay by me more often vs running and jumping all over me. I do think they will slow down with time but some will always have more energy than others. I think Pita has so much personality because of her energy level, LOVE IT and HER!
