Another thing that is really great for them if you have it available is doggy daycare. Rocco started going at around 6 months, just occasionally. Now he averages a full day about once every week or so, and it's really great for exercise, but also excellent for socialization which is very important to do early on. Again, it satisfies and stimulates them emotionally, which helps channel the physical energy.
