I wouldn't keep him in simply because he doesn't like the boots. If he has a sweater or coat on, he may not mind the cold as much. It may take a little time, but he will eventually get used to the cold and snow - just don't keep him out too long. When it snows several inches (or feet!) outside, we shovel paths in the back yard so Rocco can go out and do his thing. By the way, how old is your pup?
