The microchip is an implant. But when you have it done, they also give you a tag with the dog's microchip info on it. The tag can be hooked to a collar, harness, leash or something if you want.
It never occurred to me that Cody's rabies tag might need to be on him when he goes out. I guess I better check on the rules around here!
