Hehe: They would work as 'feelers' if they didn't grow so long and hang down, lol. Oh I think they're as sensitive as a cats, just not as functional because they grow down instead of sticking out where they would touch stuff before the muzzle does.

Mine are less head shy with them trimmed: I think the whiskers may be too sensitive or my pups are just hyper about them being pulled out in a comb. Peek a Boo even seems bothered by being petted when his are long.

I haven't noticed any change in their balance at all. I think they are more of a nuisance on a Yorkie than anything else. I started trimming them way back when I noticed they were causing some of the facial hair to sit crooked, or they can cause the hair to have a wave where it should be laying flat.

They may have flinched the first few times but now they are fine with me doing it, as long as I don't move the scizzors away until I'm sure the cut has been made (that will pull the whisker out and hurt).
