For every dog that's stolen, there are a million of homes burglarized, but only dog napping makes the news because it gets more attentions. Always watch out for your dogs and NEVER leave them outside unattended! If you are a breeder, then you should have an alarm system and home security camera, and maybe a couple Rotties.
I wouldn't get paranoid, but I would always keep in mind that "it's better to be safe than sorry".
