Sissy and Brodo picked up lay down very fast, but would only lie down with the hand signal command. I want them to be able to follow the voice command on this one, in case something happens, I can stop them in their tracks when needed. I've been working with them very patiently but nothing I've tried has helped. They always need the hand command. As I have mulled this over in my mind, I realized that I have been using the get down command for longer than the lay down. To a puppy the 2 commands must sound pretty much the same lol. So tonight I tried lay instead of lay down, and I think it's going to work!
Sissy actually went down without the hand command, and she even went to a sit from a down position, something else we have been working on. I'm so excited!!! It's so great to see weeks of work start to pay off. A little more work with them yet but by Jove I think we've got it!!!
