Maybe you could name him "Voldemort"...you know from Harry Potter? hee hee! Nah, he is too cute for that name. But, your calling him "the nameless pup" made me think of that. Voldemort was called "he who must not be named." LOL!
Not naming him probably won't lesson your attachment to him. I hope that you are attaching to him wether he has a name or not. Good luck.
