My Gabby had Shunt Surgery on the 26th of October. She hardly would eat for the first few days. Scary I know, and I have been there. Gabby will eat LS Canin soaked for about ten minutes with apple bits and goat cheese. Go to the Liver Shunt Support group on Yahoo. They have many helpful hints on diet. I believe the worst is behind us both. Good luck, I am so glad you had the surgery. I know for Gabby it has given her another chance at a happy and healthy life.
