The problem most people don't realize, is that if a breeder sells to a pet store, they have to at least pass some standards written by the USDA, but if a breeder sells over the web, they need no license and don't need to be inspected by anybody. These breeders are under the same veil as those small breeders who sell directly to the problem, and it was thought the public would check out the breeding conditions, but this is not true if they are buying over a website. If a breeder is a member here, most people don’t bother checking out the breeding conditions and have no idea how many dogs the breeder actually sells each year. I've had breeders here argue with me saying that they are a good breeder and the PayPal on their is just a benefit for their “customers”. Anyway, it's easier to find factual information on buying a dog from a good breeder than it was 5 years ago, so if someone wants to find the information, it shouldn't be too hard, and thats a good thing!
The paypal thing really gets me too! And paypal charges an arm and a leg for their "service".

But I agree with concrete, so many people think buying from show breeders is impossible, or get offended that they have to prove they are a worthy home to get one of their dogs. So many have the mentality, I have the money, I want it. Even if they don't have the money, geez! But my point is that they think they shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get a dog from a show breeder or even rescue, they should get what they want when they want it. ME ME ME NOW NOW NOW!!!

And back on topic, how many people think the micro mini googly eyed pups that look like their heads are about to explode from hydrocephalus think that is cute. Reminds me of the time I saw a youtube vid of a "breeder" advertising their microscopic shotglass yorkies, morkie, and maltese or whatever, and many people commented on their awfully small size, and thumbed down. There were other comments, several in fact, that stated something like, "How can you people thumb down these cute puppies, you guys are evil!" And they don't know the breeder of those pups is in fact the evil one.

There is still a lot of work to be done.
