It's a territorial thing and Ziggy no longer has the need to mark his territory. However, adding another dog to the mix, male or female can change the dynamics. While marking is guided by the hormone testosterone, and the testes makes the bulk of testosterone, the adrenal glands in males and females make testosterone also. I know a few people with 4 males and 1 female, and the female is the only one that marks.
