  Yes I will be sure to give Heartworm med.  When I took Hope from her owner I asked her what heartworm meds she was on so I could get the same. I couldn't believe when she told me that she never put them on anything. And they were outside 24/7 . Her exact words were cause i will never forget them. " I know I should have them on something but I have never had a dog die of heartworms.... they usually die when the blue heeler steps on their head." 
 
 
I couldn't believe it. I knew she would be positive when i took her in for the blood work.
