If you've found a system that works for you and your unique circumstances with 3 other outdoor pottying dogs, that's great. I'd stick to it and keep doing what you're doing.
I brought my pup home at 6 weeks...I know...completely against what most on here would recommend, but it was the absolute best experience for me. By 12 weeks old she was completely potty pad trained. It took me another month or so to develop enough confidence in her to let her have the run of the house though.
Everyone's got to figure out what works best for their personal situation. It sounds like you've found yours.
