I had never heard of this before; so I attached an article about this technique. the way I read the article is that while digital photoshop programs can emulate some of the effects of lomographic shots, from a purist point of view, you are not getting the real thing.
I do know in the digital realm, lenses are often as expensive or more than the actual camera, and that there are different lenses to accomplish a whole lot of different things.
