What sex is your current pup? I tend to like one of each and find that they get along better, that way you have the best of both worlds
But I agree that the most important thing is that whatever pup you get fits in with and gets along with your current one, so I would set up a play date if you can before hand to see how they interact...and goodluck! I'm sure you will be happy with whatever choice you make, they are all so loveable, boy or girl!!
