Well, at least this abuse was made public. For every animal abuse case you see in the paper there are hundreds that are never made public Someone took the time to make sure this person was charged for what he did. Usually others are just too busy to bother. We used to be a kind and compassionate nation. That trend seems to have changed a great deal. I have worked for many years in a medical facility that deals with kids and families of all income levels. I have to say the future is not bright. The family is not what it used to be with kids growing up pretty much raising themselves for various reasons. Kindness, compassion and consideration are traits that are taught. Kids being raised by a television and video games are not learning what it takes to care about something outside themselves. I'm afraid that there will be many more victims in a nation that has lost it's reason to care. |
