Sounds like reverse sneezing to me. With him not eating his food as fast anymore, you said that when you switched these symptoms started and he may be associating the food with him getting sick and throwing up. I know I wouldn't want to eat something that was making me sick. It could be that he is allergic to something in the new food. Have you tried switching back to his old food to see if the symptoms diminish? Good luck and I feel bad for the little guy. Hope he gets better real soon!
