When I was growing up it was always all colored, I loved them. Over the years people seemed to turn to all white and we did that for several years and just in the last 2 or 3 years we have gone back to all colored on the tree and will use the all whites in other places in house, like the icicle ones.
I really like the colored ones on the tree, they just seem more festive and happy to me but the white ones have their place in other parts of the house.
