Lactose Intolerance is the inability to produce the enzyme lactaAe in your body, which breaks down the complex sugar of lactose. Many items besides dairy products have lactose in them.
and no, I don't think you're mean. You were probably just laughing at her ignorance to the subject of dogs and chocolate. She's lucky that she didn't kill them though.
