If *I* had a choice of not doing prescription vs. using an RX, I would choose not to, but that's just me. It doesn't sound like it's a necessary thing and since the vet gave you an option, I'd look into something else. NB has other flavors you could try if it's her being picky. But since she ate this well for a while, and then got picky, she will probably eat the ZD for a while and also get sick of it and wait for something new.

I think there was a recipe posted somewhere where the ZD wet food could be baked in the oven and turned into treats.
She did pretty well on NB duck & potato but her skin was always flaky and she was getting ear infections. She was on NB for a long time up until our boxer came into our life in April and since she was already eating ProPlan, doing well on it and Tink only would eat that, I decided to keep both on the same food. So Tink has been on ProPlan for a few months and she started scratching, losing hair around the eyes and getting ear infections immediately.

She goes to the vet tomorrow for a follow up due to an eye ulcer. I would like to keep her on ZD for now since she is loving it but hopefully change her back to another non-rx food, if it's ok.
