Do you have the agreement (they give you papers for the remaining balance) in writing? If it's emails keep them all including the conversation where they start to get rude. I would suggest sending them the remaining balance in a trackable manner (money order, registered mail, etc) With the balance include a letter from a lawyer (even if it's just a letterhead from someone you know) stating that if they do not honor their part of the agreement then you will take them to court as they are in breach of contract, maybe include a copy of the conversations.
If they don't send you papers in a timely manner, take them to small claims court and sue them for either the cost of the dogs worth (since it doesn't have papers, research the median price for a yorkie without papers) also within your claim you can include that you will settle for the papers too.
Sometimes you got to be aggressive with people in order to get them to hear you out, it may not have to escalate that far but letting them know you are serious is a good rule of thumb. Good luck! |
