Poor Tinkerbell. Max has had eye ulcers and they are no fun. Ulcers are very painful. If you haven't already, put an e-collar on her to prevent her from rubbing or scratching the eye.

Usually the eye meds are prescribed 3-4 times a days. That may only be for drops. I don't recall if the salve was only 2 times a day because Max only had that briefly. The meds are to prevent infection while the eye heals itself.

Typically, atropine is not advised because it slows the healing process. If Tinkerbell's eye has not healed significantly within 3-4 days, I would insist on different meds. Max had tri-thalmic drops the first couple of times, and for the last ulcer, he had Ofloxacin, a very strong antibiotic.

I don't have any experience with allergies, so I don't know about that med.

You should have Tinkerbell tested for dry eye after her ulcer has healed. The dry eye test has to be done before the flueroscein dye test to check the corneal ulcer.
