I'm against the majority on this one. IMO, I don't believe anyone should share anyone else's personal business. The choice to share or not should be up to the person themselves.
I had a family member taken suddenly ill last year and a best friend of mine chose to share that information on FB (asking to keep in thoughts/prayers, etc.) As soon as I was made aware of it, I asked the friend to delete it, as the family member involved is a very private person and would not have taken kindly to having that information shared. Let the people directly involved decide what personal information they chose to share, or not share.
