I agree with YorkieUSA, feel bad, but be quick to move on. I sulked the first time I got fired, and it didn't to much good. Update that resume, and start sending them out. A lot of stores are hiring for the holidays. If you're up for it, it could hold you over until you find something permanent. Plus, it's the holidays, stuff sales itself.
