Google "Nutro Consumer Affairs".

Dog food can be very political. lol. Some will say SD is bad, some will not. I don't prefer it. But I'm no professional.

Lately, I have been really interested in company ethics and values but I still pay attention to ingredients at the same time. Some are for grain-free, some are not, some say it doesn't matter, it's just all a matter of taking in all the facts and studies and opinions and forming your own.

Ingredient lists are important to look at but I also don't think it's THE most important. There can be a food, such as Nutro, with a decent ingredient list. But I would never ever trust the company or feed the food.

I just recently made a thread about why I love Fromm; hopefully he continues to do well on the food and we can stick with it (we're on our second bag). Though I will say he's been itching more lately than before, however I am still giving it a chance because he's been on antibiotics recently, etc, and I don't want to pinpoint the food quite yet.

Right now, the main companies that I trust the most are Fromm, Petceruan, and Champion Pet Foods. And even two of those I've seen with some problems, but none that makes me want to stop supporting them. It's amazing when you realize how many foods are sourced or made by Diamond or Menu Pet Foods, etc, companies that a lot don't really trust, but maybe don't even realize their brand of food is being manufactured there.

I dunno, it's a learning game. What one dog does best on, another will not. So find what works best for your pooch! You are probably going to find at least one bad thing about every food out there.
