I'm so sorry for your loss, and I agree with Bitsy. It's no wonder you are super sensitive about the neuter. As I understand it, it takes a very short time for them to be under and that alone reduces the risk. If his blood work is normal, he should be OK. I've always had my boys neutered and a few of them didn't even act sore. Good luck and God bless.
