The protein in a grain could be an allergen, but they wouldn't simply just be allergic to grains. There could be one in particular or it could be the food as a whole and how the ingredients are interacting that doesn't agree with her (or something totally different - new environmental allergen, fleas from the vet hospital, etc.). I would not stop feeding grain because one food with grain in it made my pup itchy. And also there are sometimes other meats/poultry/soy besides the first one listed. What else is in the food besides chicken or turkey...
