I can't tell you for sure what a good breeder would charge, but I can tell you that when I was looking I ran across a lot of BYB's asking between 900 and 1400 for their dogs. No Ch, no testing, no health guarantees and dogs not even close to being in standard. Maybe my idea of "reasonable" is off here, but when I was searching I was willing to spend between 1500 and 2000+ for a well bred dog (pet quality) from a reputable breeder for a dog. (waiting for the reputable breeders to tell me I couldn't even get past their email for that price...)
Don't let price be your only guide, though. Research, research, research. Check out the breeder from every angle.
