I guess I'm weighing in kind of late for this, but....I say just hang in there. The same thing happened to me. DH said "no dog!" for 5 years. I didn't want to go behind his back and get one because his ex had sone that and i knew it caused him some trust issues. Finally, one day, he just said "ok, but I'm not gonna help with it, not gonna walk it, feed it or nothing". I understood that and was willing to take care of him by myself. We drove about 30 minutes to pick Reilly up and by the time we got home, DH was smitten. As tough as it is, you have to listen to im and respect his wishes. Let him know how this makes you feel and then trust that he wants you to be happy too.

I hope this all works out for you. People on this forum (any forum, I guess) can be reeaally tough, but they have the puppy's best interest at heart. Eat the meat; throw out the bones, is what I say.
