I'm not sure exactly what you were not satisfied with. What was actually done? $20.00 for bath and haircut is really reasonable. Generally grooming should include trimming pads as needed, cutting nails, sanitary trimming, cleaning ears (also plucking excess hair comming up from the ear canal if needed), bath, and a haircut if requested . If you went to a "petsomething" rather than a grooming salon you definitely need to be more specific as their services are often priced 'al-a-carte'. As far as shaving yorkie ear tips it is usually owner preference and you should probably have mentioned it to them. The term "puppy cut" is not really a real name for a haircut so I would just describe what you want to the groomer. Better yet look for pictures of cuts you like and take them with you next time. The groomer may have done very little because, like you said, it was the puppy's first time. It is not rude to be specific with the groomer. Even though there are standard breed specific haircuts, like for a schnauzer, yorkies are cut in lots of different ways and it is really owner preference.
